Fines against businesses will increase next year, up to 500,000 ALL if they do

Large businesses with an annual turnover of over 14 million ALL, which do not provide a tax invoice when selling or buying goods, will be fined up to 500,000 ALL. The proposed changes in the law "On Tax Procedures" provide that disciplinary measures will be applied in case enterprises are caught twice within one year in violation.

"Every figure set in a tax form has arbitrariness inside. And in addition we say penalty and revaluation. This leads the business to a double penalty. We have proven earlier that this does not work", said Flobens Dilave.

The Ministry of Finance and Economy argues the 3-fold fine with the preservation of the proportionality of the penalties in accordance with the tax violation.

"This is more propaganda than based on objectivity. I have the impression that before it goes to Parliament for a vote, these proposals must be reviewed", added Dilaveri.

In the current law, the fine for this violation for businesses that are subject to the cooperative profit tax is 150,000 ALL. Likewise, all categories of businesses that do not issue a tax invoice for the first violation have penalty measures from 25 to 75 thousand ALL, depending on the size of the business.
