Whenever an immigrant sends money to family members in Albania or when investors make payments abroad, there is a significant cost involved in making the transaction.
This is because Albania is not yet part of the Single Euro Payments Area.
At the meeting organized by the European Central Bank, the First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Albania, Luljeta Minxhozi announced that they are working to be part of SEPA, fulfilling the conditions.
Entry into SEPA was a request of the Government of Albania at the summit of the Berlin process that took place in Tirana. (A2 Televizion)
