Over 20 million euros in less than a year. That's how much money the state budget has saved by the "Centralized Purchasing Operator", the agency that carries out public procurement on behalf of and for the account of the prime minister's office, ministries and subordinate institutions.
"The importance of reducing public costs and the trust that we had to have and gain was important, and this is also confirmed by important international institutions that list Albania in first place in the region for transparency in public procurement," declares Minister Gonxha.
The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, also indicated the areas in which this money was saved.
"Currently, there are 460 registered economic operators that receive automatic notifications for Centralized Purchasing Operator announcements and 165 unique clients. The number of beneficiary institutions is 141. We are nearing the completion of the Albzone platform that will enable direct purchases through the virtual store, making the process simpler, more transparent and more sustainable," adds Gonxhja.
The "Centralized Purchasing Operator" is a central purchasing body, whose mission consists of carrying out procurement procedures for goods, works or services with a value above the monetary threshold for low-value procurements. (A2 Televizion)
