The escalation of a further conflict in the Russia-Ukraine war will bring deterioration and a new price crisis. A2 CNN journalist Marjo Braka said in Dita Jonë that this will also affect our country. According to him, this has been warned by the Bank of Albania, but the European Union has also called on citizens to keep food reserves.
"The European Union has requested that member states maintain food reserves for 3 days. This is an extraordinary measure that the EU is taking for the first time," the journalist told A2 CNN.
According to him, in Albania, as in many other countries, this effect has had a direct impact. Moreover, many Albanian families depend on remittances sent by emigrants.
"Over 1 billion euros in remittances. The World Bank has said that 24% of Albanian families are fully or partially dependent on remittances, the income they have is insufficient, which shows that a large part of the personal economy of many Albanians is linked to income coming from emigrants."
The war, especially in Ukraine, has had a major impact on global markets. Food, oil and gas prices have risen sharply due to supply shortages from these conflict-affected areas. This has led to a rise in prices in many countries, severely affecting families and creating economic uncertainty.
