The government has increased the budget of the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime by 570 million lek.
According to sources for A2 CNN, from less than 1.8 billion lek with the budget change on April 29, SPAK's budget has increased to over 2.3 billion lek.
For the furnishing of the offices of the new building, the purchase of electronic equipment and the installation of solar panels on the building's terrace, the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office requested more than 761 million lek from the state treasury.
In the letter addressed to the Ministry of Finance earlier, SPAK argues that part of the money is needed to fully operationalize the National Bureau of Investigation.
There are more than 250 million lek that, according to SPAK estimates, are needed mainly for the digital and physical infrastructure of the Special Prosecution Office. (A2 Televizion)
