Working in the state continues to attract Albanians. Last year, for 1,510 positions advertised in the public administration, there were over 14,500 applicants. 17.5 requests for one vacant job. The increase in salaries is considered the main reason.

"We often hear that I'm tired so I'm going to work in the state. For many, working in the state gives them the opportunity to do another job. Unfortunately, these are still factors," Emin Shini, a labor market expert, told A2 CNN.

Compared to 2023, interest in open jobs in the country increased significantly. The application rate for each job was slightly lower than in 2022, but still above the average of the last decade.

"We must keep in mind that the salary increase does not affect all positions. It is not that there is uniformity. The private sector continues to have better salaries and more variety of positions. We also have many individuals who are self-employed."

Data from the Department of Public Administration shows that out of about 1,500 positions advertised last year, 1,221 were filled. In other words, 81 percent of the vacancies were filled.

"What was expected is happening. The private and public sectors are going hand in hand. I can even say that I am surprised that over 80 percent of the advertised positions have been filled," Sheni added.

According to the report of the Department of Public Administration, last year marked one of the highest levels of employees dismissed from work with 396 cases. This was due to resignations with 140 cases, followed by retirement with 117 cases and disciplinary measures for dismissal from work.  (A2 Televizion)
