From April 2, all employees who had a gross monthly salary of over 100 thousand lek during the past year, dual employees and those with untaxed income of up to 50 thousand lek earned from daily rentals on "AirBnb" or "Booking" will be fined if they have not submitted a Personal Income Declaration.

"There are over 140 thousand individuals who must submit the DIVA declaration considering only the criterion of income from employment. The penalty in case of failure to complete or submit on time is 3 thousand lek", said Rozana Çelmeta, Director of Business Process at the DPT.

Until the end of last year, the law provided that for dual-employed people, their income was combined at the end of the year and subject to tax, after completing the annual income declaration. Until the end of 2023, the limit for declaring gross income was 2 million lek per year or more.

Anyone who fails to submit the declaration is fined 3 thousand lek, to which interest and late payment interest are also attached. Completing this declaration serves the Tax Administration to conduct checks for tax evasion and to investigate assets. The deadline was March 31, but the Tax Directorate postponed it to April 1 because today is an official holiday due to the Eid al-Fitr holiday. (A2 Televizion)
