Pensioners have started withdrawing their bonuses today, at the points where they receive their pensions.
About 511 thousand pensioners will receive a bonus of 10 thousand lek, since their monthly pension reaches up to 20 thousand lek per month, while the rest, who receive over 20 thousand lek per month, will receive a bonus of 5 thousand lek. According to official announcements, this bonus can be withdrawn until September 30 of this year.
The bonus is a non-permanent payment that the government gives to pensioners to cope with rising prices and basic consumer needs. But how much do Albanian pensioners receive today?
The average pension is estimated at 15,600 lek. But some pensioners receive much less than that. These are the elderly in rural areas. According to data, the pension in the village is only 10,888 lek and in the city 18,615 lek.
