A serious accident was registered this Sunday evening in Maliq. According to the police, near the village of Veliterna, a "Ford" vehicle collided with a motorcycle driven by a 17-year-old man.

As a result, the 17-year-old received injuries together with his peer who was a passenger on the motorcycle. Both were sent to the Korça Hospital for treatment, while the driver was escorted to the police station. Work has begun to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

"Preliminary information: On 19.11.2023, around 18:10, on the "Korçë-Pogradec" road axis, near the village of Veliterna, Maliq, a "Ford" type vehicle driven by citizen BJ collided with a motorcycle driven by citizen FM , about 17 years old. As a result, the FM driver and the passenger of the motorcycle, a citizen of AK, 17 years old, were injured and were sent for treatment to the Korça hospital. Further procedural actions are being carried out with the driver of the vehicle BJ. The investigative group is working to clarify the circumstances of the accident," the police announced.

According to the police, the two teenagers were traveling by motorbike from Pogradec in the direction of Korca when they were hit by a "Ford" vehicle that was coming from Korca in the direction of Pogradec.

At the time of the accident, the vehicle passed from the right side of the national road to the other side in the direction of the gas station, this moment also caused the collision with the motorcycle that the two young men were riding.

As a result of this collision, two 17-year-olds were injured and were urgently sent to the Korca hospital, where they are receiving medical assistance. Sources near this hospital indicate that both teenagers are out of danger.
