A 36-year-old man in Gjirokastra has been arrested by the Police after fatally hitting a 71-year-old man who was riding a bicycle.
Through a statement, the Police announced that the serious incident occurred yesterday evening on the "Këlcyrë-Përmet" road axis, writes A2 CNN.
The Police statement also states that the 36-year-old was driving the van while intoxicated at the time of the accident.

Gjirokastër Local Police Directorate - Specialists of the Interurban and Urban Traffic Section arrested citizen DB, 36 years old, resident of Përmet, in flagrante delicto, after yesterday evening on the "Këlcyrë-Përmet" road axis, while driving a van type vehicle while intoxicated, he hit citizen RN, 71 years old, resident of Përmet, who was riding a bicycle. As a result, the 71-year-old lost his life in hospital.
The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, for further action. (A2 Televizion)
