Bomb alert at a school in Tirana

A bomb alarm at a school has put the capital's police on alert on Friday afternoon.

According to preliminary reports, the bomb threat was sent via email, forcing teachers to evacuate students.

The message, written in English, stated that a bomb had been placed on the school premises, which would explode in 43 minutes.

Police services and the Anti-Explosive Unit immediately went to the scene where they evacuated the students and school staff.

Meanwhile, the Police Services, Anti-Terror structures in cooperation with Cybercrime Investigation specialists are working to clarify the circumstances and identify the senders of this threatening e-mail directed at the school.

A message has also been sent to parents regarding this threat by school officials.

"We inform you that an email has been sent to the school and that the students need to leave for home. We are cooperating with the police. There is no panic and all the children are very well! The children will be transported by van or by the parents if possible. We will stay in touch." (A2 Televizion)
