Albanian Klodian Zaimi, the 'head' of a cocaine network, is arrested in Colombia

The Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Interpol of the National Police of Colombia (Dijín) and the agency of the Drug Control Administration (DEA) in the USA report the capture of the Albanian citizen Klodian Zaimi, alias "El Gringo", whose main function was to receive money from selling cocaine in the United States and occasionally in Europe, to clean it and send it to the criminal organization in Colombia.

According to "Dijín", this man was responsible for coordinating the shipment of large quantities of narcotics from the ports of Cartagena to Central America and the United States using fast boats, foreign media reported .

"The cocaine hydrochloride sent was produced in the department of Valle del Cauca and transported by land to the Caribbean coast. Once there, the members of the organization are responsible for sending the alkaloid by sea to its final destination," Dijín said in a statement.

In this operation, another person was also caught, whose identity is not disclosed. Both 'El Gringo' and the other captor are wanted by a U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on charges of money laundering, drug trafficking and conspiracy to commit a felony. (A2 Televizion)
