A 35-year-old Albanian man threatened the Italian carabinieri with an ax when he was caught red-handed by the latter during a robbery in Paderno Dugnano, local media reported .
Police officers hit him with pepper spray and a taser, but the man managed to escape. The carabinieri intervened on the ground after a call about a theft and after entering the premises, they identified the 35-year-old man, who, waving an ax, started threatening them.
Pepper spray therefore had to be used, which however had no effect, the man actually continued to swing the ax dangerously, managing to escape into a nearby apartment complex where, after a further attempt to hit the officers , was hit with the electric gun.
However, he broke free from one of the arrows, resuming his escape by climbing over a fence and jumping into the basement area of the building from a height of about three meters, where he was eventually stopped.
The detainee was then taken to the Niguarda hospital, where it was found that he had a fracture in his right leg, which can heal in 30 days, as a result of a voluntary fall during the escape attempt. He was later released and held in the security rooms of Cologno Monzese Tenenza, awaiting immediate trial while the ax was seized. (A2 Televizion)
