The Special Prosecution Office closes the investigations and sends for trial 5 people accused of vote buying in the 2023 local elections in Rrogozhina, among them the Democratic Party's mayoral candidate in this city, Shkëlqim Hoxha.
In addition to him, Limon Shala, Fatmir Thaçi, Florant Saraçi and Engjëll Cara are also accused. Shkëlqim Hoxha is accused of failing to report a crime, while the other four people are accused of active corruption in the elections.
According to SPAK, the investigations have revealed that in collaboration with each other, they have secured and offered prepaid travel tickets to various persons in 64 cases, with the aim of getting them to vote in favor of the candidate, Shkëlqim Hoxha, in the 2023 local elections in the Municipality of Rrogozhina.
