Elbasan police have arrested a 36-year-old man, who is suspected of setting fire to a vehicle parked in the "Aqif Pasha" neighborhood with gasoline a week ago. The incident was initially reported as an accident, but after investigations, it turned out that the suspected perpetrator is the 36-year-old with the initials GM, previously convicted of several criminal offenses. The spread of the flames also partially burned another vehicle parked nearby.
"Based on the evidence administered and police intelligence, they have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "The last fire". As a result of the operation, citizen GM, 36 years old, resident of Elbasan, previously convicted of several criminal offenses, was arrested in flagrante delicto. From the investigative actions, it is suspected that the 36-year-old, on 23.01.2025, during the night, in the "Aqif Pasha" neighborhood, for weak motives, burned with fuel (gasoline), a parked vehicle, owned by citizen SM. Due to the spread of flames, another vehicle parked nearby was also partially burned," the Police announced.
The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan, for the criminal offense of "Destruction of property by fire". (A2 Televizion)
