SPAK would give the claim, the hearing for Alqi Bllako for the Tirana

The hearing for Alqi Bllako, regarding the Tirana incinerator, has been postponed due to the lack of a full jury, A2 CNN reports. The next hearing was scheduled for February 13 at 2:30 p.m.

This session was scheduled to feature the submission of the claim by SPAK, for the former socialist MP, who is accused of "passive corruption of high-ranking state officials." Unlike the trials of the Fier and Elbasan incinerator files, in this process Bllako is being tried separately from the other co-defendants.

In the first session of the substantive hearing, the court accepted the former MP's request for a summary trial, a type of trial that, in case of guilt, reduces his sentence by one third. After SPAK prosecutors read the request for a trial, the court considered the judicial review concluded, invited the parties to final conclusions and set January 29 as the date for reading SPAK's claim against Bllako.

According to the Special Structure, in the case of the Tirana incinerator, Alqi Bllako has benefited through corruption two monetary amounts worth 119 thousand euros and 7.5 million lek for Vladimir Bezhani, writes A2 CNN. Bllako has proposed to Bezhani to continue his duty as external advisor to the Minister of Environment, Lefter Koka, and to assist with legal consultancy during the time when the idea of the Tirana incinerator was born.

Referring to the investigation, for Bezhani's service, Bllako asked businessman Klodian Zoto to fictitiously employ him in the incinerator company and provide the sum of 7.5 million lek. Also, SPAK says, Bllako indirectly benefited from Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri, the actual owners of the Tirana incinerator, the monetary value of 119 thousand euros for the purchase of a machine for his father's beverage factory in Ersekë.

In December of last year, the GJKKO passed the file with 12 defendants for the Tirana incinerator for trial, including former minister Lefter Koka. (A2 Televizion)
