Daut Laze continues to be the most wanted person by the police over the last two weeks, after he spectacularly escaped from the Shenkoll prison in Lezha, where prisoners with mental health problems have been relocated.
The 49-year-old, considered a high social risk, has not yet been found, despite checks carried out on his relatives, places of worship, or even in abandoned homes and premises.
In exchange for any information leading to the fugitive, on the first day of the escape, the police offered a 10,000 euro reward.
From the expertise that investigators have conducted in the prison, it has resulted that Daut Laze left the cell calmly and alone, at around 03:44 on February 4. From the examination of the prison's security cameras, it has been observed that the 49-year-old encountered difficulties only when he crossed the institution's perimeter wall. The entire escape, according to sources, did not last more than half an hour.
After Laze's escape, three Shenkoll prison employees were arrested for abuse of office, who were later released with mild security measures by the court. During their statements, Shenkoll prison employees claimed that during the time they spent in front of the room where Laze was lying, they remembered that he was asleep in his cell.
The 49-year-old was arrested for domestic violence, but last year the Tirana Court ordered mandatory treatment for him. (A2 Televizion)
