A three-year-old child from the village of Mjeda in Vau i Dejës lost his life three days ago, while his seven-year-old sister is in serious condition at the Pediatrics service in Tirana. The causes of the minor's death are not yet known.

Sources from the Pediatric Hospital in Tirana rule out the possibility that the children have been affected by meningitis, but raise suspicions that they may have been poisoned by an anti-rodent drug that their parents used to spray a warehouse.

Meanwhile, the official police announcement states that the children presented themselves on Friday, February 21, at the Shkodra Pediatrics with viral symptoms and after treatment, they were sent home.

But other information comes from sources at the Shkodra Hospital, who said that the three-year-old presented with heart failure, while all protocols were followed by the doctors. According to them, the parents were asked on the first day to leave the three-year-old for observation, but they insisted on taking him home.

The next day, they went back to the hospital with the children in a more serious condition. Despite the efforts of the doctors, the 3-year-old could not live.

The sister was urgently sent to Tirana Pediatrics and it is learned that her life is still not out of danger.

Toxicological analyses are expected to shed light on the causes that took the three-year-old's life, while the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office has also launched an investigation into the case. (A2 Televizion)
