A 60-year-old Albanian man was shot dead in the Paleo Faliro neighborhood of Athens this evening. The Greek media report that the serious incident took place in front of the building where the victim lived at 44 Atlantos Street, in the Greek capital.
Unknown persons opened fire at the Albanian and quickly left.
The victim was shot in the chest and with the immediate intervention of the ambulance, he was taken alive to the Evangjelismos hospital, when he later died as a result of his injuries.
The area has been cordoned off by multiple police forces and at least two 9mm shell casings have been found at the scene.
Until now, the causes of the incident are not known, but according to Protothema, it may be related to the past of the 60-year-old, who is filed by the police for involvement in criminal drug trafficking groups, cigarette smuggling and document forgery.
From the preliminary assessments, the Hellenic police suspect that we are dealing with a murder for clearing accounts. (A2 Televizion)
