A giant plot of over 11,000 narcotic plants has been discovered and destroyed in the Temal administrative unit, in the Vau i Dejës municipality, during the ongoing police operation "Coordinates".
Narcotic plants of the cannabis sativa species were discovered thanks to aerial monitoring of the territory with drones and field control by foot patrols. In Temal alone, 11,748 plants were destroyed, one of the largest seizures this season. In this case, three people were prosecuted for abuse of office: the headman of the village of Kllogjen, Gj. G., and two forest rangers, P. Sh. and FG.
Another case was identified in the Pult administrative unit, where 455 cannabis plants were discovered and destroyed. In this area, the police prosecuted a forest engineer, citizen AM, at large, for abuse of office and failure to report a crime.
According to official sources, the total number of narcotic plants and seedlings destroyed during the latest phase of the "Coordinates" operation in the Shkodra region has reached 12,203. The police have announced that the operation continues with intensity, while they are still searching for other persons involved in the illegal cultivation of narcotics. (A2 Televizion)
