The Court of Appeals has rejected the request of the lawyer of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi to disqualify the three-judge panel of the "Partizani" case. The request was reviewed by Judge Erjon Çela, who assessed that the alleged request was not based on law and evidence.
Berisha and Malltez's defenders requested the exclusion of members Elsa Ulliri, Bib Ndreca, and Rudina Palloj, claiming that they do not guarantee independence and impartiality given that they are monitored, eavesdropped, and supervised by SPAK.
The next hearing for the Partizani file is scheduled for September 15th. (A2 Televizion)
