"There was an increased risk in Lukovë", Çako: But the lives of residents or tourists were not endangered

The Director of Civil Emergencies, Haki Çako, in a connection with "Dita Jonë" on A2 CNN, provided an update on the fire situation in the country.

"We have had massive fires in the municipalities of Delvina, Konispol, Himara and Vlora. Intensive work has been and continues to be carried out by our structures. Last evening was very intense in the Lukovë area, where the fires have reactivated and have posed a great danger to residential areas, but thanks to the extraordinary work, it was possible to eliminate the consequences from residential areas," said Çako.

"There has been increased danger in Lukovë, as well as in the Delvina area. We still have a fire presence that is being monitored continuously, with all capacities, also supported by air with helicopters," Çako added.

Regarding the danger posed to residents and vacationers, especially in Borsh, Çako said: "We had to intervene with the understanding of the tourists, relocating them if there was an increase in the presence of fire. The structures have been on duty all night, making it possible for no citizen's life to be endangered."
