Unsettled scores with Italian justice have led to the arrest of a 60-year-old man in the city of Vlora. Police say that Fredi Arshi (alias Alfred Arshiaj) has been arrested.
"The Narcotics Investigation Section in cooperation with the Special Operational Force at the Vlora Police Department, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Epilogo". During the operation, the internationally wanted citizen was arrested in the "10 Korriku" neighborhood and provisionally arrested, to be extradited to Italy: Fredi Arshi alias Alfred Arshiaj, 60 years old, resident of Vlora. This citizen was internationally wanted, after the Turin Court of Appeal, Italy, with the decision dated 20.03.2018, sentenced him to 11 years and 6 months in prison for the criminal offense of "Criminal organization in drug trafficking", according to the Italian Criminal Code", the police announced.
The arrested man was sentenced by Italian authorities to 11 years and 6 months in prison as a member of a criminal group involved in narcotics activities. Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome are cooperating to extradite him to Italy. (A2 Televizion)
