Sentenced to 14 years in prison for cocaine trafficking, the Supreme Court

The high court dismissed the appeal made by Arbër Çekaj. The owner of the company "Arbi Garden" was found guilty of trafficking the largest amount of drugs ever caught in our country, 613 kg of cocaine, writes A2 CNN.

Čekaj was sentenced to 21 years in prison, but for the sake of a shortened trial, he was reduced by 1/3 of the sentence and eventually he has to serve 14 years in prison. Çekaj once again denied his involvement in the 2018 event, when 613 kg of cocaine coming from Colombia were found inside a container of bananas, which passed from Italy, to the Port of Durrës and then to Çekaj's warehouse.
