Police rescue 72-year-old man in Korça after apartment burns down

Korça police rescue a 72-year-old man from the flames.

Laura Leka, Aurel Jesku and Klodian Dulellari risked their lives by entering the flames that engulfed a house in a suburban neighborhood of Korça, to save the life of 72-year-old Jorgo Kostreci, who was alone in the house at the time the house was engulfed in flames.

It was the fire service that made it possible to isolate the flames in the apartment, while the police officers of the local Korça Police Directorate intervened to save the 72-year-old man, writes A2. He was urgently transported to the Korça regional hospital for medical assistance.

Sources near the hospital say that the 72-year-old is out of danger.

After being taken out by police, the 72-year-old said very little, except that he didn't understand anything when the apartment caught fire.

The elderly man lives alone in a one-story apartment and, in addition to his pension, he earned income by collecting various scrap metal. (A2 Televizion)
