"Police reforms have been halted", Prençi: In Lezha, two hotspots create victims every year

Former police chief Shemsi Prenci cited the security situation in the country as the reason for the halt to the reform of the state police.

To journalist Andrea Danglli, Prenci said that today there are new leaders in the police, but old department heads who need to move on.

He said that immediate intervention is needed in the Lezha district, where two groups have repeatedly created victims.

"I have been waiting for the police reform. Today it has been stopped. There are no good appointments. We have 5-6 departments that should be subject to the competition, but it has not been opened. We have new directors, but departments with previous people. The criminal investigation department should come down with the best team in Lezha.
