Rigels Gjinaj, the 34-year-old who on the evening of September 16 of last year shot dead Emanuel Rroku in a bar in Turbigo (in the metropolitan city of Milan) with his 6.75 mm gun, risks life imprisonment.

Public Prosecutor Ciro Caramore opposed the request for restorative justice made by the defendant's defense, instead seeking the maximum sentence for him from the Court.

How did the murder happen?

On the evening of September 16, 2022, Rroku was sitting at the outdoor tables of a bar along Via Allea Comunale in Turbigo. At this point, an argument with Rigels apparently arose.

In the ongoing argument that culminated in murder, the 34-year-old Albanian pulled out a semi-automatic pistol and shot at least three times. One bullet hit his 23-year-old compatriot and the other two injured as many people, including a 20-year-old boy.

During the fight, a volley of bullets fired from the 34-year-old's gun and one of them hit Rroku in the carotid artery.

The 23-year-old died shortly after arriving at the Legnano hospital, while the 34-year-old was hospitalized for some time in Gallarate due to the beatings he suffered that evening.

What did the ballistics report say?

In the last few months, exactly in that bar, the ballistic examination was done. Parma investigators reconstructed the crime scene to determine whether or not it was an intentional homicide.

According to the expertise, the fatal shot was fired from a distance of 25 to 45 cm, hit Rroku's necklace and was deflected towards his neck, Italian media write.

"I didn't want to kill anyone. I would like to go back and erase all this pain", declared Rigelsi, who ended up in prison for murder.

His lawyer requested "restorative" justice, which the prosecutor responsible for the investigation opposed, objecting to the aggravating circumstance of frivolous reasons. The Public Prosecution asked the Assize Court of Busto Arsizio to sentence the 34-year-old to life imprisonment with daily solitary confinement. (A2 Televizion)
