The Special Court has placed lawyer Bardhi Koçi, who was arrested two days ago by order of SPAK, under house arrest. According to the Court's announcement, the judicial police and the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime are ordered to implement this decision.
"At the conclusion of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, with a panel composed of Judge Flora Hajredinaj, based on Articles 248, 228 et seq. of the Criminal Procedure Code, with Decision No. 29, dated 03.03.2025, decided: The continuation of the implementation of the security measure "house arrest" provided for by article 237 of the Criminal Procedure Code, assigned to the suspect Bardhi Koçi, son of Emin and Lalote, born on 29.01.1957, born in ****, and residing in ****, with Albanian citizenship, with civil status married and with two children, with a judicial status of no previous conviction, as a suspect for committing the criminal offense "Exercising illegal influence against persons exercising public functions", provided for by article 245/1 paragraph 4 of the Criminal Code", announces the Special Court.
An appeal against this decision is allowed, at the Special Court of Appeal against Corruption and Organized Crime, within 5 (five) days starting from the day after the notification of the decision.
Lawyer Bardhi Koçi is accused of exercising illegal influence over persons exercising public functions. At the time of the commission of the criminal offenses, he was employed as an Auditor at the Supreme State Audit Office, where he requested from citizen PM the amount of 4,000 (four thousand) euros and received from her in the form of an irregular benefit the preliminary amount of 1,000 (one thousand) euros, with the aim of exercising influence on the decision-making of the judge, who was examining the case in her charge.
