Four veterinarians, citizens Baki Myrtollari, Kujtim Agolli, Demir Koritari and Ergys Lame, have been arrested by the Police in Korça, after they are suspected of registering 120 smuggled small livestock and cattle.
Through a statement, the Police announced that a 39-year-old man has been declared wanted for allegedly smuggling livestock and cattle from Greece, and criminal proceedings have been initiated against 3 citizens who kept livestock and cattle in their stables.
Sources close to the investigation group indicate that for 6 months, cattle and sheep were smuggled through the green border from Greece to Albania, towards Devoll, and then registered and put on the market.
According to the same source, during this period, suspects and others were slaughtered, traded and consumed after being registered, writes A2 CNN.
The source further said that the investigation is also continuing for other responsible institutions, as there are suspicions that there was collaboration in all cases, and the investigation has even revealed that there is a connection between the perpetrators of smuggling and the arrested persons.
Due to cattle smuggling, mainly from Greece, cases of cattle plague have been observed in villages in Devoll, which makes this situation even more alarming. (A2 Televizion)
