After the police and media reported girls who were being blackmailed by an anonymous Instagram page, the Korça police have discovered the perpetrators who were distributing erotic videos and photos. In the "BOOMERANG" operation, two girls who administered the Instagram page were arrested.
"Thanks to the in-depth investigations of experts from the Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes, as well as close cooperation with the international companies Meta INC and Google INC, it was possible to obtain the necessary evidence in a short time, enabling the continuation of the investigations and the complete clarification of the event. This cooperation has been vital in identifying and detaining the perpetrators, as well as in collecting evidence that will assist in the justice process. From the intensive investigation, it was possible to identify and arrest two citizens, for the criminal offense of "Pornography with minors", provided for by article 117/2 of the Criminal Code, who were involved in this criminal activity: PM, who was the administrator of the "laviret e Korças" profile on Instagram. EP, who has been identified as the person responsible for the "Tellonym" application, linked to the Instagram profile", the Police announce.
For several days, dozens of underage girls in the city of Korça, mainly aged 14-16, have been blackmailed and denigrated on the social network Instagram by an anonymous page.
On this page, names, photos and videos of girls are posted every day, along with their residential addresses and other data, with the aim of denigrating them.

Korça, February 7, 2025 – As part of an in-depth and intensifying investigation, the investigative structures of the Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Section at the Korça Police Department, in cooperation with the Cyber Crime Investigation Directorate at the General Directorate of the State Police, have finalized the police operation codenamed “BOOMERANG”. This operation came after a denunciation for the opening of a profile on the social network Instagram, where posts of a bullying and denigrating nature were published, as well as intimate photos and videos of underage girls, students of various schools in the city of Korça.
Thanks to the in-depth investigations of experts from the Cybercrime Investigation Directorate, as well as close cooperation with the international companies Meta INC and Google INC, the necessary evidence was obtained in a short time, enabling the continuation of the investigations and the full clarification of the incident. This cooperation has been vital in identifying and arresting the perpetrators, as well as in collecting evidence that will assist in the justice process.
From the intensive investigation, it was possible to identify and arrest two citizens, for the criminal offense of "Pornography with minors", provided for by article 117/2 of the Criminal Code, who were involved in this criminal activity:
• PM, who was the administrator of the "Korça whores" profile on Instagram.
• EP, who has been identified as the person responsible for the “Tellonym” application, linked to the Instagram profile.
After completing the investigations, the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça issued a detention order for these citizens on 07.02.2025.
This operation was an important step in the fight against cybercrime, and at the same time a strong message to all those who try to break the law and harm children and young people in the online environment.
