The Korça Prosecutor's Office has sent the former head of the Services Sector at the Border Directorate and his associate to trial, accused of favoring the transport of narcotics to Greece.

During the investigation, the prosecution proved that these citizens allowed the transportation of narcotics to Greece through the Kapshtica Border Crossing Point.

According to the Prosecution, he violated the law by favoring citizen LL in crossing the border at Kapshtica without undergoing border control, by ordering and influencing his subordinates not to carry out the control. The citizen in question was later caught by the Greek side with 26 kilograms of the narcotic Cannabis Sativa.

The narcotics were divided into 27 packages, which, if released on the market, would bring monetary benefits to the organizers of this activity of 75,000 - 117,000 euros.

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Korça, is bringing to trial the former head of the Services Sector at the Border and Migration Directorate, SP, and citizen EG for the criminal offense of "Drug Trafficking" committed in collaboration as provided for in Article 283/a/2 of the Criminal Code.

Within the framework of the investigations on criminal proceedings no. 1207 registered after information received through operational channels that the police officer, Chief Commissioner SP, acting as Head of the Services Sector at the Korça Local Directorate of Border and Migration, is involved in illegal drug trafficking activities, the prosecution proved that this citizen, in collaboration with the other citizen under investigation, EG, allowed the transportation of narcotics to Greece through the Kapshtica Border Crossing Point.

This police officer, with concrete actions and contrary to the attributes given to him by law, has collaborated by favoring citizen LL in crossing the border at Kapshtica without undergoing border control, by ordering and influencing his subordinates not to carry out the control. The citizen in question was later caught by the Greek side with 26 kilograms of the narcotic Cannabis Sativa.

The Prosecutor's Office at the Korça Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction proved that these citizens, in collaboration with citizen LL arrested in Greece and other unidentified persons, have achieved a common criminal purpose by enabling the trafficking from the territory of the Republic of Albania to Greece of a quantity of narcotic substance of the Cannabis Sativa type, divided into 27 packages, which, if placed on the market, would bring monetary benefits to the organizers of this activity of 75,000 - 117,000 euros.
