A 32-year-old man has been arrested in Tirana after being caught moving around the city with a firearm and a knife.
"The "Eagle" Special Force services, after receiving information that a citizen with a criminal record was traveling armed, in a taxi, to avoid police checks, immediately intervened to capture and handcuff him," the police said.
As a result of the quick and professional operational actions carried out within the framework of the "Passenger" operation, the taxi in which the citizen A. Ç., 32 years old, was traveling was stopped on the "Mysym Keta" street. From the checks, 1 firearm, a pistol with combat ammunition, 1 cutting tool (knife), 9900 euros and 250,000 lek were found in his bag.
At the conclusion of the procedural actions, the 32-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses of "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons", and the materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.
