Fier police have arrested a 27-year-old man who raped his Italian cohabitant in his apartment in Cakran, where he had been holding her for several days against her will.
The perpetrator has a criminal record for domestic violence and theft. He was caught trying to flee in a rented vehicle.
Following the notification of the Security Expert Office at the Italian Embassy in Tirana to the Criminal Police Department that an Italian citizen was being held against her will, in an apartment in the village of Cakran, by her cohabitant, who was raping her, the services of the Special Force "Eagle" of the Fier Local Police Directorate, supported by the services of the Special Force Operations Directorate and coordinated by the representative structures of Italy for security in Albania, have organized the work and immediately headed towards the signaled area.
The Italian citizen was handed over to the authorities of the Italian Consulate in Albania and is in good health.
The procedural materials were referred to the Fier Prosecutor's Office for further action, for the criminal offense of "Domestic Violence". (A2 Televizion)
