A large-scale anti-criminal mega-operation in cooperation with Italian authorities is taking place in several cities in Albania, under the direction of the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime.
Sources for A2 CNN indicate that the operation began in the early hours of the morning and is extending to the cities of Tirana, Durrës, Fier and Vlora, with the participation of numerous law enforcement forces and special units.
The operation is related to the crackdown on structured criminal groups, suspected of being involved in drug trafficking and other organized crime activities. So far, several arrest warrants have been issued and searches are being carried out in apartments.
A2 CNN learns that a total of 52 arrest warrants have been issued inside and outside the country. It is learned that at least 20 of them are to be executed in our country. Among the persons who have been issued arrest warrants are officials, police officers and businessmen. Meanwhile, a number of real estate assets in Tirana and Durrës have also been seized.
