Aurora Guska, the state-appointed lawyer for 41-year-old Ylber Jaku, accused of murdering 34-year-old Reshit Sallahu, has revealed other details about this serious incident.
Through an interview with A2 CNN, she states that the conflict between the two families had started 20 years ago, as according to her, the victim's parents did not allow members of the other family to enter their apartment.
The lawyer also says that the incident was reported to the Police by the perpetrator's father, but according to her, no action was taken by the institutions.
The lawyer also said that the young man's murder occurred after his sister raped the perpetrator's parents with an axe, which, according to her, caused Ylber Jaku to go into a severe emotional state.
"I, as a lawyer, was appointed primarily, since the arrested person himself did not request to be defended by a lawyer, but the security measures are that he be defended by a lawyer. The family, Ylber Jaku's parents, Agim and Vera Jaku, have a property conflict, to move into their apartment, where the victim's family has not allowed it and have been in court proceedings for 20 years. Two weeks ago, the father of the arrested person, Agim Jaku, called the Police, telling them that the person with whom he had a conflict, who is now the victim's father, had taken a van and was destroying the road, the only road that led him home.
The victim's father goes to the police and says either take Agim away from me, or I will take revenge. Meanwhile, the victim's sister, who is under house arrest, has taken an axe and injured both of the arrested man's parents. In order to avoid further conflicts, the arrested man's father has called his son and told him we have had an accident and are in the hospital. Ylberi himself works in Has, the news they say he came from England is not true. He works in construction.
When he went to the Trauma Hospital and saw his parents in that condition, especially his mother, who is in a more serious health condition, he was very shocked, he turned off the phone. And in these conditions, Agim Jaku himself, I have all his calls and messages, which started from 09:49 minutes, until 11:13 minutes, there were endless messages and calls where Agim Jaku notified the police, saying 'my son has gone out of control and avoid any possible incident'. What happened? No measures were taken, since the incident occurred 3 meters in front of the victim's yard.
Ylber Jaku himself did not resist. His uncle called the police, telling him that an incident had occurred. The police came to Ylber Jaku's house, he did not resist and surrendered to the police. Today in the hearing, Ylber Jaku, since he has obtained British citizenship, has an English wife with whom he has 2 daughters.
He requested that a representative from the British embassy be present during the hearings, as he does not trust the Albanian justice system, because his parents have been struggling for 20 years and have not been able to resolve a simple conflict. The court of course decided against him the measure of 'prison arrest'. Ylber Jaku himself did not have any claims in the hearing, as according to him, he did not trust the Albanian justice system," the lawyer said, writes A2 CNN.
