A 73-year-old prisoner died today at the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center in Tirana. The General Directorate of Prisons announces that Namik Paja was suffering from some serious health problems. During his stay in the institution, he was hospitalized three times in the Prison Health Center.
The event was immediately reported to the competent authorities, including the Prosecutor's Office, the State Police and the State Police, which are carrying out procedural actions in accordance with the law.

Today, on December 9, 2024, in the premises of the University Hospital Center "Mother Teresa" (Mother Teresa), citizen Namik Bexhet Paja, born on January 5, 1951, resident of Berat, passed away. This citizen was convicted by a court decision for the measure "temporary imprisonment" for the criminal offense "Opposition to the Public Order Police employee" (Article 236/2 of the Criminal Code).
Paja suffered from several serious health problems, including:
- Bipolar Disorder Type 1
- Heart failure and Ischemic Heart Syndrome
- Arterial hypertension (stage II-III)
- Psychotic disorders
- Umbilical hernia diagnosed earlier.
During his stay in the institution, citizen Paja was hospitalized three times in the Prison Health Center and was treated with the appropriate medication for his health condition.
