Police in Maliq have arrested a 26-year-old man who got out of control after a fire he started with the intention of clearing pastures got out of hand.

"As a result of investigative actions to document cases of arson and bring the perpetrators to legal responsibility, the Crime Investigation specialists of the Maliq Police Commissariat arrested in flagrante delicto the citizen: GA, 26 years old, resident of the village of Pirg. From the investigations, it is suspected that this citizen, on 30.07.2025, at around 15:00, started a fire in the place called "Arat e Sulës", above the village of Leminot, with the aim of opening new pastures, and as a result of the spread of the flames by the wind, an area of land with vegetation and bushes was burned," the police announced.
