A 43-year-old man has been criminally prosecuted by police in Kakavija after being caught with an undeclared amount of 28,000 euros at the border crossing.
"Following the work of the Border Police services, with the aim of preventing and combating crimes at the border, at the exit from Albania, a search was carried out in the bag of citizen FR, where 28,650 euros were found, which this citizen had not declared in accordance with the law.
Following the procedural actions in the case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings were initiated in a free state, for the criminal offense of "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border", for the citizen FR, 43 years old, resident of Tirana. Also, the amount of euros was seized as material evidence.
"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, for further action," the police announced. (A2 Televizion)
