The General Director of the State Police, Ilir Proda, today participated in the annual work analyses in the local police directorates of Elbasan and Korça.
Proda has evaluated the work of the structures for guaranteeing order and security, for preventing criminal events and for the legal documentation of the activities of criminal groups.
During the analysis, it turned out that during the year 2024, there would be no murders in the Elbasan district.
This result can be called a record achievement, as it had not happened since 1989 that no murder was recorded in this district for a year.
Meanwhile, Police Chief Proda has focused on several aspects of police work and has requested improvements in parameters during 2025, in terms of community policing, in order for every police officer to be closer to citizens and have the criminal situation and citizens with criminal records under control in order to prevent criminal incidents.
Proda emphasized that cracking down on illegal possession of weapons, preventing crimes against life and property, cracking down on illegal trafficking, preventing the cultivation of narcotic plants and their distribution, as well as dynamically following up on all issues and concerns addressed by citizens, are priorities to be further improved during 2025.
