The Special Court decided to dismiss the "defamation" lawsuit filed by lawyer Valentina Teodorescu against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
Teodorescu is the lawyer who, primarily appointed by the court, represented Sali Berisha in the session of October 26, 2023, where the first measures of "obligation to appear" and "ban on leaving the country" against him were confirmed. Teodorescu's transition from lawyer-client relationship with Berisha, although primarily appointed by the court, to opposing party in the courtroom occurred a few days after the October session, after her name was labeled as a patronizer or former investigator of the dictatorship on television panels or in publications on social networks.
For these statements, in the same lawsuit for "defamation", Teodorescu raised the finger of accusation and demanded the trial of the former Prime Minister's son, Shkëlzen Berisha, Democratic MPs Flamur Noka and Edi Paloka, former MP Luçiano Boçi, 3 media outlets, 7 journalists and Berisha's lawyer, Genci Gjokutaj.
According to the decision of the Special Court, the dismissal of the criminal case registered after her lawsuit was made due to the failure of the victim-accuser Teodorescu to appear at Monday's hearing without reasonable cause. In October two years ago, Teodorescu defended Berisha's legal interests after a ping-pong of lawyers in the hearing that lasted almost three days.
Initially, Berisha's two chosen lawyers abandoned the trial, while the court mainly appointed 3 lawyers at different times, who were ultimately replaced by Teodorescu, who represented Berisha in the trial. (A2 Televizion)
