Following the incident that occurred last night in Fier with agents of the National Bureau of Investigation and Operations, the police have arrested three people, reports A2 CNN. It is learned that Ledjan Kapllanaj, Klaudjo Kapllanaj and Gerald Kollçaku have been arrested. Meanwhile, investigative actions continue for the other people involved in the incident.
What happened the night before?
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Fier. A2 CNN learned that several people, including people close to the former mayor of Mallakastra, Agron Kapllanaj, were escorted to the Fier police station after they confronted BKH and Operational Police agents.
According to A2 CNN sources, the agents were on duty and also set up a drone at the entrance to the city of Fier that flew near several businesses. After the collision, the agents filed a report, saying they were attacked because of their duty.
Agron Kapllanaj is one of the founders of the "Right 1912" party with chairman Enkelejd Alibeaj.
What do the Police say?
The police in Fier issued an official statement about the event, saying that the services of the Special Operational Force Directorate of the Criminal Police Department of the State Police, together with BKH investigators, were on duty in the Fier district when the incident was recorded.
"Around 19:20 this evening, on the Fier - Patos road axis, the operational services of the Police and the BKH investigators were attacked in the line of duty by several persons, who were identified and escorted to the Fier Local Police Directorate for further action. All investigative and procedural actions are being carried out by the Fier General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office", the police announced.
What does Kapllanaj say?
Contacted by A2 CNN, Agron Kapllanaj says that the incident occurred near the offices of his political entity and gave his version of the event.
In a telephone conversation, the former mayor of Mallakastra claimed that an unregistered vehicle drove into the parking lot of the offices of the political entity he represents at around 6:00 PM and launched a drone from there. According to him, this action was also carried out at a second time and aroused the suspicions of officials who were inside the building.
"When the facility's security guard went to ask for an explanation as to why they were flying the drone from the parking lot of their offices, one of the agents told him that they were 'looking to buy a property', and then insulted him with harsh words," Kapllanaj claims.
After the debate, the agents left in their vehicle and were followed by several officials of the political entity and two relatives of Agron Kapllanaj. Kapllanaj further explains that a few minutes later they managed to stop them and there a second clash began between the BKH agents and Kapllanaj's people.
But according to the latter, at no point were they told that they were BKH agents. As he claimed, his relatives were even threatened with a weapon and only after this moment were they told that they were dealing with BKH agents.
