From Emiljano Shullazi to Astrit Avdyli, the Special Prosecution Office has announced that it has completed investigations into 14 defendants, who are accused of being part of a structured criminal group involved in mafia assassinations in the country.
"Astrit Avdyli (alias Astrit Balliu, alias Astrit Sulejmani), investigated with the personal security measure "Arrest in prison", provided for by Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, accused of committing the criminal offenses of "Providing conditions and material means to commit murder", to the detriment of citizens Durim Bami and Valter Bami, committed in special collaboration with a structured criminal group, provided for by Articles 80 and 28/4 of the Criminal Code; "Structured criminal group", in the form of participation, provided for by Article 333/a, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code; "Committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group", provided for by Article 334, point 1 of the Criminal Code; "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", in the form of possession of combat ammunition without the permission of the competent state bodies, provided for by Article 278 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code; “Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition”, in the form of keeping weapons in the home, without the permission of the competent state bodies, provided for by Article 278 paragraph 4 of the Criminal Code; “Assistance in illegal border crossing”, carried out in collaboration, provided for by Article 298/3 of the Criminal Code; “Removal of a prisoner from the place of residence”, provided for by Article 323 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code; “Introducing or keeping prohibited items in the institution for the execution of prison sentences” provided for by Article 324/a paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.

Xhelal Rraja, investigated with the personal security measure "Arrest in prison" provided for by Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, accused of committing the criminal offenses of "Providing conditions and material means to commit murder", to the detriment of citizen Arben Ndoka, committed in special collaboration with a structured criminal group, provided for by Articles 80 and 28/4 of the Criminal Code; "Structured criminal group", in the form of creating, organizing or directing a structured criminal group, provided for by Article 333/a, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code; "Committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group", provided for by Article 334, point 1 of the Criminal Code.
Miri Bruli, investigated with a personal security measure "Arrest in prison" provided for by Article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, accused of committing the criminal offense of "Aid for illegal border crossing", committed in collaboration, provided for by Article 298 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code.
From the entirety of the investigative actions carried out so far, it is proven that:
The defendants Astrit Avdyli (alias Astrit Balliu, alias Astrit Sulejmani), Emiljano Shullazi and Blerim Abazi, during the months of January-July 2020 and the defendant Naim Stafuku, during the month of August 2020 in collaboration with other persons, with their unlawful and direct actions, intentionally committed within the framework of a structured criminal group, have provided the conditions and material means to commit murder, to the detriment of citizens Durim Bami and Valter Bami.
The defendants Besian Xhixha, Enver Diva and Robert Laçi, in collaboration with other persons, through their unlawful and direct actions, intentionally committed during the months of August-September 2020, within the framework of a structured criminal group, have provided the conditions and material means to commit murder, to the detriment of citizen Preng Gjini.
Defendants Leonard Duka and Drianto Bardhi, in collaboration with other persons, with their unlawful and direct actions, intentionally committed during the months of June-September 2020 within the framework of a structured criminal group, led by defendant Leonard Duka, have provided the conditions and material means to commit murder, to the detriment of citizens Ervis Martinaj and Erigers Mihasi.
The defendant Gjergji Cukali, in collaboration with other persons, with his unlawful and direct actions, intentionally committed during the months of July-September 2020 within the framework of a structured criminal group, provided the conditions and material means to commit murder, to the detriment of citizens Elvis Gacaj and Altin Gega.
The defendant Viktor Imeraj (alias Viktor Bajraktari), during the months of June-December 2020, as well as the defendant Satilno Basho, during the months of March-May 2021, in collaboration with other persons, with his unlawful and direct actions intentionally committed within a structured criminal group, have provided the conditions and material means to commit murder, to the detriment of citizens Fatmir Hyseni and Armando Hyseni.
The defendant Xhelal Rraja, in collaboration with other persons, with his unlawful and direct actions, intentionally committed during January 2021 within the framework of a structured criminal group, provided the conditions and material means to commit murder, to the detriment of citizen Arben Ndoka.
The defendant Emiljano Shullazi, in collaboration with other persons, with his unlawful and direct actions, intentionally committed during the first quarter of 2019, as well as activity materialized on 23.04.2019, 2021, within the framework of a structured criminal group led by him, has attacked a family member of a judge, a member of a panel of judges at the Court of Appeal for Serious Crimes, which was adjudicating a criminal case, among others, also against this defendant. The latter, for this judicial case, had requested the disqualification of this judge.
The defendant Astrit Balliu (alias Astrit Sulejmani, alias Astrit Avdyli), through his unlawful and direct actions, committed intentionally and ascertained on 29.06.2024, kept a pistol firearm and a considerable amount of combat ammunition in his apartment without the permission of the competent state bodies.
Defendants Astrit Balliu (alias Astrit Sulejmani, alias Astrit Avdyli) and Miri Bruli, in collaboration with other persons, with their unlawful and direct actions committed intentionally and materialized on 03.07.2020, have assisted a citizen wanted for illegal border crossing from Montenegro to Albania via Lake Shkodra.
The defendant Astrit Balliu (alias Astrit Sulejmani, alias Astrit Avdyli), with his unlawful and direct actions committed intentionally and ascertained on 17.05.2024, being under a security measure of "house arrest", provided for by Article 237 of the Criminal Procedure Code, determined by decision no. 33, dated 26.07.2021 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, has left the apartment where he was supposed to stay as a detainee, not being found in his apartment by the services of the Police Commissariat, Shijak and Durrës.
The defendants Astrit Balliu (alias Astrit Sulejmani, alias Astrit Avdyli) and Emiljano Shullazi, with their unlawful and direct actions, committed intentionally and ascertained during the period January-July 2020, have each illegally kept in prison institutions prohibited items, mobile phones with which they have communicated with other persons outside the institution executing the prison sentence, where among other things they have also communicated with several persons who have been collaborators in the commission of a series of criminal offenses, for which they are accused.
"Investigations continue within the framework of criminal proceedings no. 59, in charge of other persons suspected of committing criminal offenses as well as for criminal facts resulting from the investigations of this proceeding," SPAK announces. (A2 Televizion)
