An Albanian citizen suspected of theft has fallen into the hands of the Belgian police. It was local residents who witnessed the burglary of the Boonhof house in Affligem last week at around 19:15.
Witnesses were able to provide important information about the escape route, after which the emergency center decided to send a BIN message.
The TARL police area arrived at the scene together with their colleagues from Dilbeek and AMOW and a sniffer dog from the federal police also came to help.
During patrolling in the area, a suspicious car with French license plates was spotted. As soon as the suspects returned to their car, the police wanted to check. The suspects left immediately. It is not clear how many people were involved.
One person was arrested. In the pocket were a pair of gloves and burglary equipment. According to police, two bags were found in the car containing one of the stolen items in Boonhof, but the victim of the theft said that this is only part of the items.
The Albanian suspect, who was already known for similar crimes and is staying illegally in Belgium, has been brought before the investigating judge and his sentence is expected. (A2 Televizion)
