The national protest called by the opposition on Saturday, February 8, has put the State Police on alert. The permit requested from the police by the organizers of the rally is for 3 hours, starting from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
According to the letter submitted to the Tirana Local Police Directorate, the Democratic Party has announced that citizens will gather on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, in front of the prime minister's office, writes A2.
From the start of the protest until its end, the Traffic Police will block all roads connecting to the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, and there will be diversions on some of them.
To guarantee order and security, there will be around 1,200 personnel on the ground, starting from the law enforcement forces, the National Security Forces and the Eagles. RENEA forces will also be on standby, if their intervention is needed. Meanwhile, employees of the Republic Guard will take charge of institutions of special importance.
Meanwhile, during the protest, all officers will be equipped with gas masks. There will also be 5 water trucks, but their intervention will be necessary in case of incidents. Meanwhile, high-resolution cameras will be installed along the boulevard to identify violent protesters.
As in every protest, a cordon of police officers will be created in front of the Prime Minister's Office and the perimeter around it. Another part of the officers will stay in other buildings, such as the Parliament, the Municipality of Tirana, the Ministry of Interior, or even at the headquarters of the Socialist Party. Civil agents will also be involved in the field, to monitor the progress of the protest.
The tasks left by police leaders to their subordinates are to avoid being provoked by protesters, as well as to keep under surveillance those persons who have committed acts of violence in previous protests. (A2 Televizion)
