Mario Përlleshi, the minor who took the life of his peer Martin Cani on November 18 of last year, near the "Fan Noli" school in the capital, will stand trial as charged with "murder under qualifying circumstances."
"The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Tirana, has completed the investigations and is sending to trial the citizen MP, accused of committing the criminal offense 'Murder in qualifying circumstances' against a minor and against two or more persons, provided for by Article 79, letters a) and dh) of the Criminal Code, to the detriment of minors MC and LM. After a full and comprehensive investigation, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Tirana, has completed the investigations regarding criminal proceedings no. 7676, registered on 18.11.2024," the announcement of the prosecution body states.
Also, the capital's Prosecutor's Office has decided to separate the acts of this proceeding, as far as those related to the criminal offense of "Abuse of Office", provided for by Article 248 of the Criminal Code, regarding the actions or inactions of the school staff.
These acts have been registered in another proceeding for which investigations continue as, according to the prosecution, it is necessary to conduct other investigative actions, in order to individualize guilt and specific criminal responsibilities.
The serious incident, in which 14-year-old Martin Cani was stabbed and his friend Luis Meçe was injured, was the result of arguments that had started between minors on the TikTok platform. (A2 Televizion)
