From Velipoja to Ksamil, the Border Police and the Maritime Police Unit are continuing monitoring the entire marine, lake and river area for maritime security.
During the week, 316 vessels were inspected, of which 20 were blocked for various violations, including 8 vessels that endangered vacationers by sailing within the security perimeter. The drivers were fined 100,000 lek each.
Also, thanks to rapid interventions in 8 emergency cases, 11 citizens, both local and foreign, who were left in danger due to waves or technical defects, were rescued at sea.
The police appeal for respect for maritime traffic rules and invite citizens to report any violations to 112.

Operation "MARINE SECURITY" continues
Intensive monitoring by the Maritime Police Unit and the Border Police, with the aim of increasing maritime security parameters.
As a result of the monitoring and controls carried out by Komani in Ksamil, 20 vessels were blocked, 8 of them for violating the security perimeter.
Also, 11 citizens (Albanian and foreign) were rescued at sea, thanks to the immediate intervention of the Border Police and the Maritime Police Unit.
The Border Police, in cooperation with the Maritime Police Unit, is continuing intensive controls and monitoring throughout the maritime space, from Velipoja to Ksamil, as well as in lake and river areas, to identify violations related to:
the use of vessels without relevant documentation,
breach of the security perimeter,
developing activities outside permitted areas.
During the week, 316 vessels were inspected, of which 20 were blocked for various violations.
Specifically, 12 jet skis, 4 speedboats, 2 dinghies and 2 metal boats with installed water motors.
8 of the vessels were found to be sailing within the security perimeter, endangering the lives of vacationers. Their drivers were punished with an administrative fine of 100,000 lek each.
Meanwhile, from Ksamil to Velipojë, the Border Police has intervened in 8 emergency cases, to help 11 citizens who were left in danger due to strong waves or defects in their boats.
The Border Police appeals for strict compliance with the rules for the use of watercraft:
Do not breach the security perimeter;
Only sail in permitted areas;
Equip yourself with the necessary rescue equipment.
The State Police invites citizens and vacationers to report any violation of navigation rules or security perimeters to the toll-free number 112, guaranteeing immediate response and concrete measures against any violator. (A2 Televizion)
