Three young men who had created a scheme to distribute counterfeit banknotes in the city of Vlora have been discovered by the police.
The Blue Uniforms arrested two of them, who were providing counterfeit euros, and prosecuted the third, who was introducing them into the market by making purchases at various businesses in the city.
"Specialists of the Economic and Financial Crime Section, in cooperation with the Operational Support Section of the Investigation, at the Vlora Police Department, successfully finalized the police operation codenamed "Fake Cash". As a result, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto: JT, 25 years old, resident of Skrapar; BS, 35 years old, resident of Përmet. Citizen TK, 24 years old, resident of Vlora, was also released on bail," the police inform.
The investigation revealed that the trio in question were engaged in the illegal activity of distributing counterfeit banknotes in the coastal city. Citizen TK is suspected of obtaining counterfeit banknotes from the two arrested individuals and then placing them on the market, using them for purchases at various businesses in the area.
During the operation, 2,550 counterfeit euros were seized, in denominations of 50 and 100 euros. Under the direction of the Vlora Prosecutor's Office, investigations continue to identify and capture other persons involved in this illegal activity. (A2 Televizion)
