A fire has broken out in an apartment on the third floor of a building in the Kodra e Shtufit neighborhood in Gjirokastra, reports A2 CNN.
According to sources, it is known that the cause of the fire was the explosion of a gas cylinder, which almost completely burned the household furnishings, while the elderly couple who were in the apartment miraculously escaped.
According to the Police, the elderly people were asphyxiated by smoke and were sent to receive medical attention at the Gjirokastra hospital, where their lives are out of danger.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames, while work is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of this event.

The elderly couple PK and AK were asphyxiated by the smoke and were taken to the hospital where they are receiving medical attention, but their lives are out of danger.
