Italian police have cracked a drug trafficking case, seizing over 15.7 kg of cocaine and 12 kg of marijuana, with an estimated value of around 600 thousand euros on the black market. A 33-year-old Albanian man has been arrested in connection with the case, who is accused of possession of narcotics with the intention of distributing them.
The operation was carried out by the Guardia di Finanza, following an in-depth investigation and observations carried out as part of the ongoing control of the territory. The police had identified an unusual movement of people with criminal records in areas known for drug trafficking in the regions of Tuscany and Lombardy.
During the operation, agents stopped a vehicle in an isolated village in the Lodi area, specifically in Caselle Lurani, where the 33-year-old Albanian was caught red-handed. He was unable to justify his presence at the place where he was stopped, which prompted the police to carry out more in-depth checks.
During the search of the premises where he lived, a real warehouse for storing and preparing drugs was discovered, where 15,793 kg of cocaine, divided into 20 packages, and 12 kg of marijuana were found.
Police also discovered equipment for processing and packaging drugs, such as a vacuum packaging machine, scales, bags, backpacks, and tools for dividing doses.
Investigations continue to determine whether the arrested Albanian is part of a larger trafficking network. (A2 Televizion)
