Former mayor of Korça, Robert Kotmilo, who served as mayor during Albania's darkest period in 1997 (1996-200), has passed away at the age of 83.
Kotmilo, despite being the mayor of the largest municipality in the southeast of the country, passed away alone in his apartment, in very difficult economic conditions. It is even learned that humanitarian organizations, and in particular the Metropolitanate of Korça, took care of him.
Robert Kotmilo, for as long as he served as mayor for all the people of Korça and beyond, remains one of the most talented intellectuals the Municipality of Korça has had, writes A2 CNN.
He will also be remembered for his management of the situation with the Kosovar citizens who spent several months in the city of Korça. He will be remembered as an intellectual, a man of few words, many works and not corrupt. The latter also makes sense from the fact that he lived in an almost dilapidated apartment and in extremely difficult economic conditions.
